Coherent rays emitted from a laser have excellent properties of linearity.   They can hit and generate any fluorescent dye very effectively whether in thin or thick gels.   Taking advantage of this property of coherent laser light, the FLA-2000 is equipped with two laser light sources; an SHG laser at 473 nm and a He-Ne laser at 633 nm to offer high sensitivity and precise image-analysis performance.
