Europe In 1982, we established Netherlands-based Fuji Photo Film B.V., which initially manufactured color photographic paper and has subsequently broadened the range of its manufacturing operations to include color films and PS plates. Also, Fuji Photo Film B.V. expanded its factory complex in the city of Tilburg to encompass an R&D facility and a distribution center. The largest Japan-affiliated enterprise in the Netherlands, the subsidiary supplies Fujifilm products to European countries as well as markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Fuji Photo Film B.V. is well integrated with local society and makes extensive use of European know-how. While it has a staff of approximately 1,500 people, the subsidiary's operations have led to the creation of approximately 3,000 local jobs. Also, the subsidiary has promoted diverse international exchange activities. For example, Tilburg has established a sister-city relationship with Minami-Ashigara, where one of Fujifilm's principal domestic factories is located.
In 1987, we established Fuji Magnetics GmbH, which is based in Kleve, Germany. This subsidiary manufactures such recording media as videotapes, floppy disks, and CD-R disks, primarily for European markets. In the United Kingdom, FUJIFILM Electronic Imaging Ltd. engages in R&D and manufacturing activities related to electronic imaging equipment used in the printing industry. |
