Efforts toward Quality Assurance

Based on the customer's trust in the name of a film

Fujifilm's focus at the time of its establishment was the home production of photo film. Photo film is the kind of product that customers should trust will give them beautiful image quality before they buy it rather than trying it before purchase. Since its establishment, Fujifilm's efforts to continuously supply consistent, high-quality products that can win the customer's trust were the basics behind the Company's corporate activities and social contributions. Product range is being expanded in both analog and digital technology application in such diverse areas of imaging systems as cameras, minilabs (including those for medical care and printing), recording media, industrial materials, and document systems (including copiers). Alongside such efforts, Fujifilm established and operates a strict quality assurance system that gains the customer's trust in all areas that the Company is involved in. Based on the ISO 9001 quality management system that it acquired and implemented at all production sites, Fujifilm strives to further improve and strengthen its quality assurance system, paying particular attention to customer orientation and quality first under a Companywide quality policy to achieve global quality by supplying the highest-quality environment-conscious products throughout the world.

Value for customers

Fujifilm's basic manufacturing philosophy is that it can always create products in uniform quality only if it is engaged in manufacturing with raw materials in uniform quality under constant conditions. To this end, Fujifilm conducts strict quality checks of the upstream production process, such as the procurement of raw materials, while monitoring the production process itself at certain key points to determine whether production is being carried out under the same conditions. Just before shipping to customers, we conduct another check to see if all items that are necessary for customer satisfaction are present. Only products meeting all these requirements are shipped to the market. Regular inspection is conducted for the proper operation of the checking system, and if necessary, corrections are made immediately. Constant monitoring on social and market trends is carried out to continuously produce and provide products that are truly worthwhile to the customer.

Efforts toward product safety

Efforts to ensure product safety are being conducted by the PL Committee, a Companywide organization directly controlled by the president. The product safety system that the committee uses includes the confirmation of and internal audit on product safety as well as PL-related data processing. Information on customer complaints and troubleshooting is gathered from the market through the Customer Corresponding System, which is centered on the Customers Communication Center (CCC).
