| Even today's high-tech cameras need a little care with focus, or you'll end up with blurred, fuzzy shots. Remember that most auto-focus cameras focus at a point at the center of the viewfinder frame.

| If
your subject is to the side of the frame, simply
pressing the shutter will focus on the background
rather than the subject. |

| First
aim your camera so that your subject is
in the center of the viewfinder frame. Now
press the shutter button halfway down. This
locks focus on your subject (usually indicated
by a light in the viewfinder). Now, while
keeping the button halfway pressed, recompose
the scene as you like. Then press the shutter
the rest of the way. Your subject will be
in perfect focus, no matter where it is
in the frame. |
